Why an outpatient surgical center

A 24-hour referral hospital carries overnight staffing, emergency intake, inpatient wards and the equipment to support all of it. That infrastructure is genuinely necessary for critical cases — and every client pays for it, whether their pet needs it or not.

The great majority of surgical patients do not need it. A dog having a cruciate repair, a cat having a dental, a mass removal booked two weeks ahead: these are planned procedures on stable patients who recover better at home than in a kennel. For them, an outpatient model is not a compromise. It is the better option, and it costs considerably less.

What we do not compromise on

Lower cost has to come from somewhere. In our case it comes from overhead, not from any of the following:

• Anesthesia staffing. A dedicated technician stays with your pet from induction through recovery, monitoring one patient — not two.
• Monitoring. ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, end-tidal CO₂ and temperature, continuously through every procedure.
• Pre-operative workup. Bloodwork and an anesthetic plan built around your individual pet.
• Surgical technique. The same instruments, implants and methods used in referral practice.

How we work with your veterinarian

We are a surgical centre, not a general practice. We do not offer wellness visits, vaccines or routine medicine, and we have no interest in taking over your pet's primary care. Your regular veterinarian keeps that relationship.

After every procedure we send a full operative report back to your primary practice, so your pet's record stays in one place and your vet can manage the follow-up with complete information.

Who we treat

Dogs and cats, exclusively. That focus is deliberate. It means our team performs the same procedures often enough for them to be routine, which is what makes outcomes consistent — and it is why we will tell you honestly when a case belongs somewhere else.

We are based at 715 George Bush Blvd in Delray Beach, and see patients from across Palm Beach County.
