Refer a surgical case, keep your client

We take the procedure. You keep the relationship. Every case comes back to you with a complete operative report and no attempt to capture the client's primary care.

How we work with referring practices

Your client stays your client

We are a surgical centre, not a general practice. We do not offer wellness care, vaccines or routine medicine, and we will not solicit your clients for anything beyond the procedure you referred.

A full operative report, promptly

You receive the surgical report, imaging and discharge instructions so the record stays complete in your practice and you can manage follow-up with full information.

Direct surgeon-to-surgeon contact

If you want to talk a case through before referring — including cases we may advise against operating on — call and speak to the surgeon, not a front desk.

What we take

What to send

What to send with a referral

The more that arrives ahead of the consultation, the more useful the consultation is. Ideally:

  • The relevant history and current medication list
  • Bloodwork from the last 30 days, where available
  • Radiographs — DICOM preferred, JPG acceptable
  • Your working diagnosis and what you have already tried
  • Anything you know about the client's constraints, financial or otherwise

Send to surgeryforpets@gmail.com, or call (561) 203-0623 during business hours (Mon–Fri, 8AM–6PM).

Referral questions

For your practice

Email the record, recent bloodwork and any radiographs to our practice inbox, or have the client submit the appointment request form and note your practice name in the referring veterinarian field. We will contact the client directly to schedule and will confirm receipt with you.

Only about the procedure you referred them for — scheduling, the estimate, consent and follow-up. We do not market other services to referred clients and we do not offer the routine care that would compete with your practice.

A complete operative report describing the findings and technique, any intra-operative imaging, the anesthetic record, and the discharge and medication plan given to the owner. It is sent as soon as the report is finalised, not weeks later.

Please do. We would rather review a case and tell you honestly that it belongs at a 24-hour facility, or that surgery is not the right answer, than have a client travel for an appointment that was never going to work. Call and we will talk it through.

During business hours, yes, subject to surgical schedule. Call us rather than emailing for anything time-sensitive — foreign body obstruction, urinary blockage or an acute abdomen — and we will tell you immediately whether we can take it.

Have a case you want to discuss?

Call and ask for the surgeon. No triage, no callback queue — if we are not in theatre, you will get an answer the same day.

After-hours emergency

If your pet is in distress outside our hours, call us first — we will direct you to the right care immediately.
